Usage rules
1. What Dietrich is
Dietrich helps marketing, analytics and search leads and their advisers test a claim about AI visibility before they have to defend it. Dietrich asks questions, explains terms from the rhinegold Compendium and can run a small live check.
Dietrich gives no score and no verdict. It does not audit you, your team or your agency. Its answers are not legal, financial or investment advice, and they are not a substitute for a full analysis.
2. Access requires an account
The question page, the prepared answers and these rules are open to everyone. To ask your own question or a follow-up, you need a verified account: an e-mail address, a password and a confirmation link sent to that address. Work e-mail addresses are preferred; private e-mail addresses are allowed with a smaller daily quota. When you register, you confirm once that exploring a question with Dietrich is not a verified test.
Nothing you type is sent to any external service before you are logged in.
You can reset a forgotten password by e-mail, and you can delete your account at any time while logged in; this also deletes all conversations and live-check results linked to it.
Each account has a daily quota of questions and live checks, shown when you are logged in. Access may be limited temporarily or per account to protect system availability, data quality and fair use.
3. Diagnosis first — testing and producing stay separate
Dietrich diagnoses. It does not write content, optimise pages or start measures for you. rhinegold tests claims independently, and that only works if testing and producing stay separate: if we produced your content, we could no longer test independently whether it worked.
4. What Dietrich covers
Dietrich answers questions about business, marketing, search, AI visibility, content, analytics, attribution, measurement, and competitive and decision analysis — for companies in any industry.
5. Topics outside the scope — the conversation ends
The following topics are outside Dietrich's scope: violence, sexual content, religion, race or ethnicity, and antisemitism. This also applies when such a topic is phrased as a marketing or measurement question, paraphrased or disguised.
Every message is checked automatically for these topics before Dietrich answers. If a message touches one of them, Dietrich does not answer it and the conversation ends. You can start a new conversation. rhinegold keeps only a reason code and the time of the event, not the text of the message.
6. What you agree not to do
- Do not try to change Dietrich's rules, make it ignore its instructions, reveal internal instructions or methods, or play a different role.
- Do not use scripts, bots or automated tools to send messages or collect answers.
- Do not enter confidential information, trade secrets, passwords or access data.
- Do not enter personal data about other people, such as names, contact details or customer lists. Company names and website domains are fine.
- Do not use Dietrich to harass, deceive or harm anyone, or for anything unlawful.
- Do not present Dietrich's answers or check results as rhinegold's verdict or recommendation about a company.
We may end conversations or limit access if these rules are not followed.
7. How live checks work and what the results mean
When you give a company, its domains and a market, Dietrich may run a live check on its own:
- a Google top-10 lookup for a search term Dietrich derives, using data from SISTRIX;
- one buyer question, asked five times each to ChatGPT, Claude, Gemini and Perplexity, counting how often the company and its competitors are named or cited;
- in some conversations, the SISTRIX visibility index of the company and its competitors, now and a year ago.
A live check is a small snapshot: one search term, one question, five answers per model, one moment in time. AI answers can differ with other wording, at another time or for other users. The results are not a finding about your company and not a ranking. The SISTRIX visibility index is based on a keyword sample chosen by SISTRIX; it is not traffic and not a complete picture of your Google visibility.
Dietrich can make mistakes. Check important statements before you rely on them.
8. How Dietrich processes your question
When you use Dietrich, your input passes through several separate steps — all of them only after you are logged in.
1. Topic check. Each message you send is first checked by Claude, an AI model by Anthropic, to see whether its topic is within Dietrich's scope. If a topic is excluded, the process stops here: Dietrich does not answer, and rhinegold stores only a reason code and the time of the request, not the excluded text itself.
2. Conversation and buyer-question derivation. If the topic is permitted, Claude (Anthropic) processes the conversation so far — your messages, including company names and domains, and Dietrich's earlier answers — to write the next answer. In this step Dietrich also derives a neutral search term and a neutral buyer question that capture the underlying information need without your company name.
3. External checks. For the four-model check, OpenAI, Anthropic, Google and Perplexity each receive a separate request that contains only the derived buyer question — not your company name, not your domains and nothing else from the conversation. These models may use their own web search to answer. SISTRIX receives the derived search term and, for the visibility check, the domains being compared.
4. Results and storage. rhinegold counts in the answers how often your company and its competitors are named or cited. These counts and the Google results go back into the conversation with Claude (Anthropic), which uses them to write Dietrich's answer. rhinegold stores the conversation and the check results, linked to your account, on servers in the Netherlands for 90 days after the last activity, so that a result can be reviewed and reproduced and Dietrich can be improved; then they are deleted automatically. We do not sell or publish them, and questions on the "What people are asking" page never come from conversations.
In short: your original conversation is processed by Anthropic for the dialogue and the scope check; the four-model check itself uses a derived buyer question without your company name.
What exactly is stored, where, for how long, on which legal basis, and your rights, including deletion: see the section "Dietrich" in our privacy policy.
9. Booking a call
Dietrich may suggest a short call with rhinegold. Booking happens on Calendly; the data you enter there is processed by Calendly and by us to arrange the call. Booking is voluntary, and a call is not a sales presentation.
10. Availability and changes
Dietrich is provided as it is, without a guarantee of availability or accuracy. We may change Dietrich and these rules at any time; the version and date at the top show the current state.
